Brown Algae
«

I just started a 150 gln reef tank and since I started lights the sand and rocks are getting brown due to an algae bloom. My water is DI R/O to prevent nitrates and phosphates but I have not measured these R/O levels at the filter.
Do anyone had the same problem and can help to get rid of it?

Tank is new nd at bout 10 day the diatom alga's appear and consume all the silicates they will fade away. Just make sure all your water is R/O D.I
The brown dusting you see are the dead bodies of them as they are starving to death (: And may thie little souls rot in Diatom hell.
Its something all tanks go through we all have had them.
