My Bubble Tip has been sitting in his spot for over a year.  About 8 months ago I switched from VHO’s to MH & PC’s – the Bubble Tip held his position but he did turn slightly brown on one side that went away after a month or so.  About 5 months back I added a calcium reactor that has been holding my PH damn near rock steady at 8.1 and my calcium at 750.  Nothing has changed and the tank is beautiful with polyp extension amazing me and coral growth that you can practically sit and watch as its happening.  (yes, very pleased with the tank changes in the past year).  But (there’s always a but), last week my Bubble Tip moved – not far but he did go higher about 5 inches up and best we can tell into the same water current.  He appears to be very healthy….I tested everything and nothing is out of whack – should I be concerned?

Not at all. Sounds great to me. Some of them never stop moving. I wouldnt be worried at all about what you described. Do you feed it?

Nah, I feed the tank every now and again and the clowns feed the Bubble tip.  But these days I only feed the tank once a month or so - there is plenty of food on the reef.  He seems to have settled for the time being.

Bubble tip against xenia - go BT !  Perhaps you will find the cure for SXS (spreading Xenia Syndrome)

well, the SXS is a pretty good epedemic, however, Melanie wont let me weed it out because it is her Favorite they way it moves with the current. I would say I have about 20 1/2-1" dia stalks.  most stand between 4-6" tall.  that really nice long armed wavy stuff.  Occuppies an area about the size of a dinner plate and walking a bit to the wall of the tank.  Really pretty if you ask my wife, so I dont mind them at all. Hot pink and everything.
